Talde (Jersey City)
I was happy to receive an invitation for myself and a few guests to check out Talde owned by partners David Massoni, John Bush, and executive chef Dale Talde. This exquisite gem is one of their many restaurants located in the chic, artsy area of downtown Jersey City. Sandwiched between downtown New York and Hoboken, NJ, “We chose the location because we felt the area is booming and is a great location to make a home for Talde,” David Massoni told Winnieloublog.
Let me start with this place is gorgeous. What a huge space, and the decor is breath taking, I love the location! Talde offers dancing, great Asian cuisine, and a festive atmosphere. Expansive windows provide views of the bustling streetscape. They have live music and dancing is weekly. The popular restaurant and bar also hosts a well-attended happy hour with its own specialty and top shelf drinks. If you're there for dinner consider some of my favorites, such as the Kale Salad, Shrimp Shumai, BAO, Beef Short Rib Kare Kare, Blue Crab Fried Rice, and Genral Talde Chicken. Check out their menu to see what tasty treats are available, and then relax after a long day. Could this place get any better? Yes! Talde has a nice Jazz ensemble in the house on Wednesday nights, and is an epic scene for brunch on Saturday & Sunday, on weekdays, they offer a nice tapas menu with delicious shared plates. Talde is igniting the night with their own in house DJ. So if you’re in the downtown Jersey City, NJ area make sure you stop by Talde. Even if you’re not in the area, it’s worth the special trip. I had the pleasure of dining at Talde, J.C. on Saturday evening. All thumbs up for this swanky establishment. From the decor to the service to the excellent cuisine, I was quite impressed. I was able to sample selections from every category of the menu. My favorites were the Kale Salad with Pickled Green Mango and Plantain slices and the Grilled Octopus with Fingerling Potatoes. The kale greens were so tender that they just melt in your mouth. The grilled octopus was cooked to absolute perfection. I could taste a smokiness combined with the savory flavors of the potatoes and olive medley. Simply Superb! Of course we can't forget the dessert. What a sweet surprise in little chocolate squares. Salted chocolate ganache crusted with a potato chip crust was just the perfect combination of sweet and salty. I will definitely return to Talde to enjoy great food, vibes and service!
What a treat you're in for at Talde I recently visited with friends and we were lucky enough to sample several delicious dishes. Before I get into my favorites, let me mention the ultra trendy decor. From the exposed brick to the concrete center table, your eyes won't know where to look next. If you're there on the right night, head down to the chic basement lounge for a little music after your meal.
Talde is perfect for lunch, dinner and even brunch, and with their house made mixers they're just perfect for an after work cocktail. A few of the dishes I'd definitely order again: kale salad, shrimp shumai, grilled octopus or the crab fried rice. I will definitely be back!
I was lucky enough to get invited for a tasting of the entire menu at Talde- which was creative and excellent. Food portions were generous. The servers were attentive and very friendly. My favorite dish was the grilled octopus. Fun fact -after dinner you can stick around and hang out the popular bar for drinks, Great place & vibe.
